Gary Blakely was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He developed an interest in mechanical things very early, which led to a career in the automotive service industry, in a variety of jobs, culminating in the position of Field Service Engineer for the Ford Motor Company. He is retired now and drives a Hybrid Escape, assembled right here in Kansas City.
