Alfred Ortega

Al Ortega has been a member of Oasis since 2023. Walking in and seeing a strong community of amazing people, he knew Oasis was something he wanted to be a part of. He works in IT managing HR and Payroll systems for several federal government agencies. Prior to that he worked for the Department of Defense after being an active duty Marine which is what brought him to Kansas City. He has a BS in IT and a Masters in Management and Leadership.

Al is originally from Massachusetts but as an Army brat and Marine himself he moved a lot throughout his life living in places like Germany, Japan, Korea, Arizona, Alaska, Texas, Florida, North Carolina, New York and of course Kansas City, MO. He is married to Sondra and they live in Lees Summit. He is super proud of his children which are a son, two daughters and one step daughter all of which are now adults.

Al loves reading and going down YouTube rabbit holes, on science as well as enjoying degenerate humor and aggressive heavy metal. Firmly believing that “Reality is Known Through Reason” he is a lifelong learner and encourages others to do the same.
