DEED was founded by the local chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority\, Inc.\, the largest organization of African-America women with more than 250\,000 members worldwide. Earlier this year\, Lisa spoke to KC Oasis about the history of the Kansas City Women’s Athenaeum Club and their iconic Club House constructed during the suffrage movement in 1913.
