Kubic has served as the executive director of the ACLU of Kansas since January 2022. With 25 years of experience in civil rights and racial justice work\, Micah leads the largest advocacy organizations in Kansas\, defending and strengthening the rights that belong to everyone under the Constitution. Micah previously served as the ACLU of Kansas’ executive director from 2015 to 2018\, leaving to lead the ACLU of Florida\, one of the largest ACLU affiliates\, from 2019-2022.   \nPrior to joining the ACLU\, Micah was the director of planning\, development\, and evaluation at the Full Employment Council\, a Kansas City-area workforce development agency; senior program officer at Greater Kansas City Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC)\, a community development organization; and legislative director for a Kansas City councilman. Micah holds bachelor’s degrees from George Washington University as well as a master’s degree and a doctorate in Black Politics from Howard University. What is happening? Birthrates have plummeted around the world. Marriage rates have fallen even as divorce rates have skyrocketed. DNA testing often reveals that our beliefs about who our parents\, grandparents or children are may just be myths\, created to hide the truth about our family history and genetics. \nCouple this with such things as the 4B or the MGTOW movements\, the Red Pill\, OnlyFans\, and the plethora of dating apps\, and we get a glimpse of how difficult it is for humans to find partners with whom to have children and form families. \nWhat does this mean for U.S. culture\, global culture\, and the future of our species? The 816 Bicycle Collective believes in empowerment through education and supports the use of bicycles as a healthy and ecological means of transportation. \nAbout the speakers:\nSean Eagan is a co-founder\, board member and volunteer at The 816 Bicycle Collective. They have been an avid cyclist\, advocate\, mechanic and lover of bikes in Kansas City for over two decades. Though currently a PhD candidate in the Economics Department at UMKC\, you can still find them with a wrench in hand at The 816 every week. \nPaul Webb is a Kansas City native\, longtime cyclist and a volunteer and board member at the 816 Bicycle Collective. You can find him helping people fix their bikes just about every Saturday at the Collective.
