Join your fellow Oasians for a potluck party! Bring food to share and plan to stick around for good company.
Here are some details from your host:
“Our farm is family-friendly in the sense that we don’t use chemicals or have metal lying about, but it is not a suburban backyard. We have several open acres with a pond. Please talk to your kiddos about wildlife, water and fire safety. Young children should have an adult supervising outdoor play.
There is a cat in the home (plan for allergies and please don’t feed him, no matter what he tells you). Games and crafts are welcome. If there’s snow on the ground, kids are welcome to play in the snow (plenty of space for snowball fights). If weather permits, we will have a bonfire and/or pull out yard games for a range of ages (bean bag toss, rubber horseshoes, etc.).
There are a couple steps to front and back doors and the drive is not paved. However, it is a level one-story home with an open layout, so we will happily help anyone conquer those steps to get inside. The house overall is small, but we have plenty of seating and space for games.
You may park anywhere along the drives or on the street. Please save those spaces on the circle drive right in front of the house for those with mobility issues.
Directions: Despite the Harrisonville address, we are located just south of Lee’s Summit. You will see goat and horse farms.”
The address will be sent prior to the event to those who RSVP. Please contact Stacy Leonard (stacy.leonard@kcoasis.org) with questions, or you may also contact your hosts, Paige Stonerock and John Steinkuehler, via Facebook.
