Improv Comedy Workshop w/ Michael Foster & Laura Irwin

April 24, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Come learn the art of improv comedy!
$10 per person- cash only

Anyone can do improv! This workshop will focus on the central principle of improv Yes, And. Improv is useful and entertaining because everyone already agrees- “Yes, that’s a great idea, And I will add on to it!” We’ll explore this idea through warmups, exercises, and games. You don’t need to be a comedian or actor to do improv. You just need to have an open mind and willingness to have fun!

About the instructors:
Michael Foster is the General Manager and Education Director of the KC Improv Company. He has been doing improv for over a decade and teaches, performs, and directs improv with KCIC. He directs the Unusual Suspects murder mystery format and runs the KCIC Training Center.

Laura Irwin is a teacher and improviser with the KC Improv Company and has been improvising since 2007. She loves performing musical improv and dreams of one day doing a show with her adorable dog, Carmen, a 6-year-old Shiba Inu who loves pepperjack cheese and wheat thins. When not improvising, Laura is a Civil Engineer who performs hydrologic and hydraulic analysis on bridges and culverts.
