Featured speaker: Amy, Scrivner, BikeWalkKC: “Who Wins When Driving Is a Prerequisite for Thriving?”
Amy Scrivner has worked in the nonprofit sector since 1997, specializing in fundraising and communications. Several years ago, she had to take the car keys away from her dad. It was one of the hardest things she’d ever done. He accused her of taking away his freedom. Her dad’s story is one Amy often repeats in her role at BikeWalkKC. It’s a story that resonates with a lot of people, and it motivates her to do this work. Your ability to drive should NOT predict your ability to thrive in our region. Amy wants to make sure that when the time comes to give up the car keys, we have better options than her dad did. The work BikeWalkKC does is helping to create those options.
