Featured speaker: Author Kristy Nerstheimer, “The Greatest Thing: A Story About Buck O’Neil”

Kristy Nerstheimer has been an educator for over 25 years and holds a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction. Currently, she is an Innovation Specialist in the Shawnee Mission School District. She has written for various educational organizations including the Kansas Historical Society. “The Greatest Thing: A Story About Buck O’Neil” is her debut picture book. It received the 2022 Kansas Notable Award and was a Thorpe Menn Award nominee. Kristy lives in Kansas with her husband and two daughters. Visit her at kristynerstheimer.com.
