Musical guest: Jonny Green (https://www.facebook.com/jonnygreenmusic)
Community moment: Nathan Bailey
Featured speakers: Diana Kornfeld and Marsha Lerenberg, “How to Effectively Engage with MO Lawmakers”
Diana Kornfeld lives in Lee’s Summit, where she is currently the secretary and board member for the Lee’s Summit Democrats. Previously she taught English and gifted education for 35 years and taught classes as an adjunct at Avila University. She became interested in Missouri progressive causes after the 2016 election, when she joined Pantsuit Nation and later the Lee’s Summit branch of PSN. This led to her joining Indivisible KC and she later helped found the Lee’s Summit Democrats and Missouri Action Alliance. She served as a delegate to the Missouri State Democratic convention in 2020. Currently, when not working for progressive causes, she spends her time reading (a lot) and caring for her grandchildren.
Marsha Lerenberg lives in Kansas City and is an elected member of the Jackson County Democratic Committee for Ward 8 (Brookside area). She also serves on the Missouri Democratic Party State Committee representing Senate District 7, chairs the House District 25 Committee, and is active with other local and statewide voter engagement organizations, including Heartland Alliance for Progress and Missouri Voter Protection Coalition. After the 2016 election she was moved to take action, joining the KS/MO Pantsuit Nation and Indivisible KC, later taking a leadership role in the sister organization Indivisible Missouri, now Missouri Action Alliance. Marsha worked for Metropolitan Community College as an IT supervisor until her retirement in 2013. In addition to her passion for political activism she enjoys local live music and traveling to music festivals, and also cheering on the Chiefs and Royals with friends and family.
