Friends of Kaw Point Park, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) organization established in 2006. The mission of Friends of Kaw Point Park is to fund and construct the Lewis and Clark Historic Park at Kaw Point; to preserve the historical significance of the Lewis and Clark Expedition in Wyandotte County; to interpret the historic, cultural, and environmental past of the park; to support the park and community through special events, educational programming, fundraising, site cleanup, trail enhancement, environmental conservation and stewardship; and to provide educational programming that promotes water quality and habitat protection of both the Kansas and Missouri River watersheds. The organization is funded by donations and grants.
