Featured speaker: Ron Ruhnke, “Poetry Speaks”

In honor of National Poetry Month, Ron will perform “Poetry Speaks,” featuring poetry that can change your life, open your heart, make you think, and possibly even make you smile. Come hear the power and beauty of words.

Ron grew up on a farm in northeastern Kansas and enjoyed spending a great deal of time outdoors. Professionally, Ron taught high school in Salina, Kansas; worked as a counselor at an outpatient alcohol and drug treatment center in Lincoln, Nebraska; and spent most of his professional life working as a therapist and counselor for Family Guidance Center in St. Joseph, Missouri. Ron loves poetry and ping pong, watermelon and waterfalls, good movies and blue skies, and growing tomatoes, among other things.
