***Location has been updated to 3916 St. John Ave, Kansas City, MO, 64123. We will be gleaning cherry tomatoes and tending beds at St John Community Garden. We’ll meet at the garden at 8am. There is not a bathroom on-site, so please plan accordingly if you’d like to stop at a gas station beforehand. You can park on the street or in the parking lot of Back Door Pottery.

After the Harvest rescues nutritious fruits and vegetables from going to waste and donates them to agencies that serve hungry people, primarily in Greater Kansas City. Our volunteers glean after the harvest, picking what’s left in farmers’ fields and picking up already harvested leftover produce. The majority of the funds we raise helps secure semi-truckloads of donated produce that might otherwise end up in landfills. After the Harvest, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the largest local produce donor to Harvesters—The Community Food Network. Learn more at aftertheharvestkc.org.

The location for this event will be determined the week of September 11th. We may not know the exact location until September 15th as After the Harvest works with growers to determine where there is food available to harvest. The location may be 30-45 minutes outside of downtown Kansas City.
