Food, great community, and fun: you can’t ask for much more! Join us for our citywide potluck. Bring some food, drink, and any games you might want to share.
A number of Oasians are opening up their homes to host potlucks around the city. Pick one and meet us there! RSVP to individual hosts in the designated comment threads below so that they know how many people to expect, and you can let others know what you plan to bring.
Addresses will be sent out to those who RSVP on a comment thread when it gets closer to the date. Please contact Stacy Leonard (via private mesage or stacy.leonard@kcoasis.org) for questions, or if you need an address.
Our Potlucks hosts are:
1) Lila in Gladstone, MO
“Our place has plenty of space and is kid friendly. There are cats in the home (plan for allergies.) Games and crafts are welcome. There are a few stairs to get to the main floor, but we have wheelchair ramps available and know how to use them. Please contact Stacy Leonard in advance if you would like to use the ramps. Please park on the street. If more space is needed, there is a school parking lot around the block.”
2) Mark in Overland Park, KS
“Our home can comfortably fit 35, though we’ve ‘cozily’ hosted more. If the weather’s good, we can also take advantage of the deck. We’re not child-proofed, so if you bring yours (and you’re welcome too), just be prepared to keep a close eye on them. A dog lives in the home, but will be out of the way during the potluck. Disabled access is not perfect, but we’ll help navigate the one step to the porch and the door sill.”
3) Leslie in Blue Springs, MO
“Our home can fit 20 people comfortably, possibly more. We have a dog and a cat (plan for allergies). If the weather is nice we’ll have the backyard opened up. We have a kid friendly house even for the littlest ones, and plenty of toys. We have a guest room in case anyone can’t make it home, but we do ask that everyone plan on getting home responsibly. There are some stairs to enter the house.”
4) Erin in Liberty, MO
“We have plenty of room and street parking. Bring meat to cook on the pit and drinks to share. Kid friendly until 9, no promises after that. The house does have stairs.”
