James and Michelle Morgan, active participants at KC Oasis, are excited to announce the launch of the “Mobility Matters” international humanitarian project in Nicaragua, in cooperation with Metanoia Ministries and the Free Wheelchair Mission. Being poor in the developing world is hard. Being poor and disabled in the developing world is a nightmare. Most disabled people in the poorest places live their lives in a dark room. Without wheelchairs, the handicapped must be carried everywhere or are forced to crawl. Their families are forced to make impossible decisions, to go out and find work to provide food and other basic needs, or to stay home and care for the needs of their loved one. It is heartbreaking. But a free wheelchair can dramatically change the lives of the disabled and their entire family. Because human hands solve human problems and meaning comes from making a difference, James and Michelle will share the why, where, when and how of Mobility Matters.
