Trauma affects everyone and has lasting consequences on all aspects of a person’s life: social, physical and emotional. The ACE study is a tool used to get a baseline of a person’s trauma history, which can be used to focus energy and services toward building resiliency. Resilient KC is a bistate initiative focusing on fostering a healthy Kansas City. Erin is an ambassador for Resilient KC,choosing to focus her volunteer work on veterans and their unique experiences.

Erin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has nearly 20 years of experience working with traumatized children and families. Erin has worked with chronic runaway youth, children with emotional and behavioral problems, and adults with severe and persistent mental illness. Since June 2014 Erin has served as the director of The Salvation Army’s Children Shelter. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Missouri Western State University and a master’s in social welfare from the University of Kansas. Rock Chalk!
