Just as we tend to have different social styles, like extroversion or introversion, we also have different sexual styles. These are rooted in personality that is influenced strongly by genetics and culture. Understanding and coming to grips with your SocioSexual Orientation can save a lot of heartache in relationships.
About the speaker:
Darrel Ray, Ed.D., is an organizational psychologist and consultant. He holds a BA in sociology/anthropology from Friends University, an MA from Scarritt College for Christian Workers and an Ed.D. in counseling psychology from Peabody College of Vanderbilt University.
He has written four books and many articles, including The God Virus: How Religion Infects Our Lives and Culture (IPC Press, 2009), and Sex and God: How Religion Distorts Sexuality (IPC Press, 2012), and has been interviewed or written about on ABC News (US), ABC Australia, Playboy, and many more.
Over the years he has spoken to many organizations, both national and international, like the American Humanists, American Atheists, Atheist Ireland, Atheism UK and hundreds of local groups. Darrel can be heard on such podcasts as The Atheist Experience #645 and 686, Point of Inquiry, The Atheist Experience and many more including his own podcast, Secular Sexuality. He is the president and founder of the international organization Recovering from Religion and is currently leading a new initiative to develop leadership in the secular community.
