From early childhood we are taught and told things to think and believe. Many of those things may have been useful in childhood but cause us problems as we mature. There are voices that we imbibe and often incorporate as if they were our own. In this talk, we will explore how to create your own voice.About the speaker:
Dr. Darrel W. Ray is author of “The God Virus: How Religion Infects Our Lives and Culture” and “Sex and God: How Religion Distorts Sexuality,” and is host of the Secular Sexuality podcast. He is also the founder and president of Recovering from Religion and director of the Secular Therapy Project. A psychologist for over 35 years and student of religion, he holds an MA in religion, a BA in sociology/anthropology and a doctorate in psychology. His activism runs the gamut, from protesting the Vietnam War and Apartheid at age 16, to working for civil rights and challenging religious dogma and privilege.
