“An Atheist in the Military Rabbit Hole”
A common saying is that there are no atheists in foxholes. Well, not only are there definitely atheists in foxholes, but service members and veterans find themselves going down a deep and twisted rabbit hole of religious indoctrination, inappropriate proselytizing, and systemic violations of the separation of church and state that can wreck sanity and destroy careers. Leo d’Entremont takes you on a journey down the rabbit hole with anecdotes, observations, and analysis of the pervasive problem of religion in the military.

About our featured speaker:
Leo d’Entremont has worn many hats in his 36 years. Relevant to this discussion, he served in the US Army and US Army Reserve from 2000 to 2007 combined, first as an enlisted man and then as an officer. He still tenuously identified as Catholic (skeptical, but not an atheist yet) when he enlisted. He now lives in Kansas City with his wife, two dogs, and one ridiculous cat. He works as an EMT and has two published novellas. He is currently working on a nonfiction book about gender issues in America.
