An examination of the causes behind police shootings of unarmed black men in Kansas City and across the U.S., a case study in the shooting of Ryan Stokes by the KCPD, and possible solutions to ongoing police brutality.
Garrett S. Griffin is a political writer, activist and author. He currently serves as communications coordinator with Communities Creating Opportunity. Garrett was born in Kansas City, studied at Missouri State University, and earned a graduate degree in history education from Rockhurst University. He formerly worked with special needs students in Grandview, Missouri, where he currently lives. You can find all his writings at gsgriffin.com.
