John has worked his entire career along the margins of science and art. John’s science side is an ecologist and evolutionary biologist, and the medium of his art is photography, which he has used mostly to stitch the two sides together.

This talk will explore the dilemma facing all of us: How can we live on this planet without destroying it?

The fundamentals are quite clear, but they conflict with the worldview of our culture (if a culture can have a worldview) and we don’t hear much about them outside of classrooms.
