This presentation will explore the issue of sexism in American culture from the perspective of a transgender man. We’ll be looking at the underlying psychology behind issues of sexism and the sociological structures that perpetuate them. This presentation will not discuss transgender issues or sexual orientation, but will touch on the clash created when sexist ideologies encounter people who don’t fit the simple male/female binary. Come with an open mind and leave your egos at the door as we take a peek at gender from the other side of the fence.

Bio: Leo d’Entremont is a biologist, Army veteran, EMT, published author, and avid karaoke singer who just happens to be a transgender man. His views on gender dynamics and sexism in western society are informed by the unique perspective of a person who has been treated as both female and male. He is currently working on a book about gender issues in America called “Other Side of the Fence.”
