Lisa White Hardwick is President of the Foundation for Delta Educational and Economic Development (DEED), which owns and manages the 105-year-old Delta Athenaeum building. In 2015, Lisa spearheaded DEED’s purchase of the grand edifice known as The Kansas City Athenaeum Club House. She now serves as property manager and has extensively researched the rich history of the building and its founders, The Kansas City Athenaeum Club. Based on the membership of The Athenaeum Club and DEED, the Athenaeum is one of the few commercial properties that has been exclusively owned, occupied and operated by women for more than a century. Lisa will share the legacy of the Athenaeum as an iconic gathering place for philanthropy and social action since the days of the suffragette movement.
