August's book is "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian," by Sherman Alexie. Junior is a budding cartoonist growing up on the Spokane Indian Reservation. The foundation has more than $4 million in about 40 separate, income-generating endowment accounts, and it taps those accounts as needed for specific projects.
